American Veterans and the Southwest Veterans Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to launch the inaugural Military & Veteran Celebration on May 9 at the Martin Auto Museum, 4320 W. Thunderbird Road in Glendale.
Presented by USAA and Cox, the event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. and is designed as a community celebration honoring the service and sacrifice of military veterans and their families while also connecting them with businesses, nonprofits and community resources.
Admission is $10, and entry is free for military members and veterans.
Organizers say the event is meant to be both a celebration and a catalyst for stronger collaboration across Arizona’s veteran community.
“This is an inaugural launch and community kickoff for American Veterans in partnership with the Southwest Veterans Chamber,” said Patrick Fitzhugh, USAA regional site director. “We’re bringing together the veteran business community and veteran nonprofits for a combined effort to build and strengthen the military and veteran community in Phoenix and across Arizona.”
Fitzhugh said the event aligns with USAA’s long-standing mission in the region.
“USAA has more than a 25-year history in the greater Phoenix area, and our mission is to improve the lives of military families and veterans,” he said. “Supporting this event is a clear and natural step in building community and helping make life better for military members, veterans and their families in Arizona.”
The May 9 celebration will feature:

- A military vehicle showcase
- Food trucks
- Carousel rides
- A game room
- Prize raffles
- Veteran-friendly business booths
In addition to offering a day of entertainment for families, the event is also intended to highlight opportunities for connection, visibility and support among Arizona-based veteran-serving groups and businesses.
