PHOENIX, Ariz. — A recent update from the Arizona Coalition for Military Families (ACMF) emphasizes the vital work being done to improve access to mental health care and suicide prevention resources for Arizona’s service members, veterans, and their families. The ACMF is intensifying its outreach efforts through the ‘Be Connected’ program, a collaborative initiative linking individuals to essential support services.
Director Winkel’s recent message highlighted the ongoing focus on mental health care, with particular attention given to Mohave County. With the active engagement of community partners, ACMF is dedicated to expanding the availability of life-saving services, addressing the critical needs of Arizona’s military-affiliated populations.
The state has prioritized awareness of suicide prevention and mental health resources. Through the ‘Be Connected’ program, veterans and their families can access tailored assistance, such as counseling, crisis support, and other necessary resources aimed at preventing veteran suicides.
Veterans and families can reach ‘Be Connected’ via phone at 1-866-4AZ-VETS (429-8387) or explore further services and referrals through the Be Connected Website.
As the program continues to grow, ACMF urges everyone—community leaders, veterans, families, and the general public—to share information about these resources. Together, we can ensure that every Arizona veteran, service member, and their family receives the support they deserve.
