Chandler community to host suicide prevention week gathering and vigil

Chandler, AZ — September 8, 2024 — The Chandler Community Center will be the site of a special Suicide Prevention Week Gathering and Vigil on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This event, organized by the Semicolon Society, aims to raise awareness about mental health and provide support to those affected by suicide.

The event will begin at 5:00 PM with a Mental Health Resource Expo. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with local mental health organizations and participate in a variety of activities, including henna tattoos, therapy dog sessions, and live music. Food will also be available during this time.

From 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the event will culminate in a candlelight vigil to honor and remember those who have lost their lives to suicide. This solemn hour will provide a space for reflection, community support, and healing.
