Lake Havasu City, AZ – In collaboration with the USS Arizona Relic Committee, led by Marine Corps League Detachment #757, Lake Havasu City invites the public to a heartfelt Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony this Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at 8 a.m. at London Bridge Beach Park near the flagpoles.
The event commemorates the 84th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day and will feature a short ceremony and viewing of the USS Arizona relic beginning at 8:10 a.m.—the exact time when the USS Arizona was attacked. Out of respect for the USS Arizona as a National Memorial, Congress authorized the Navy to donate pieces of the battleship to non-profit veteran and education organizations so the public may honor the civilians and military service members who lost their lives on that tragic morning, as well as those who survived and fought with great honor and bravery defending our nation.
Marine Corps League Detachment #757 acquired the 4-foot by 6-foot, 520-pound relic, taken from the aft deckhouse of the USS Arizona’s superstructure, and has assumed responsibility for protecting and displaying the relic gifted to our hometown. The committee’s goal is to permanently house the relic at London Bridge Beach through fundraising and in-kind donations.
Community members are encouraged to join this commemorative event to show their support for these great Americans. For inquiries regarding monetary and in-kind donations to house the relic, please contact Brian Springberg at [email protected].
