Phoenix, AZ. This Saturday, July 27, 2024, the Arizona Artists Guild (AAG) will host an in-person art class for veterans, followed by a virtual Creative Distraction class at 2:00 PM.
Veteran Art Class: Painting Water with Ellen Nemetz Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Location: Arizona Artists Guild, 18411 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85023
This class, led by contemporary artist Ellen Nemetz, is open to all US military veterans. Attendees will learn the techniques of painting movement in water using acrylics on canvas, working from reference photos. Space is limited, so RSVP is required. Email [email protected] with your name and “Veterans Art Class registration”. No experience is required, and all materials are provided.
Virtual Creative Distraction Art Class: Collage Cards with Lisa Wayman Time: 1:00 PM Location: Via Zoom – Register here
Open to veterans, healthcare workers, and anyone experiencing loss, grief, or isolation, this class will be led by Lisa Wayman, focusing on composition and design in collage. Participants can create all-occasion cards or personalize their projects. Common household art supplies will be used, but assistance with supplies is available upon request. Reminder: Artists with work in the annual Veterans Art Show can pick up their pieces during or after the class.
