Houston, TX — During a recent VetFest event, a local veteran learned of their eligibility for health care benefits through the VA. VetFest, part of the VA’s national PACT Act Summer VetFest campaign, aims to inform veterans, their families, and survivors about the new health care and benefits available under the PACT Act.
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough emphasized the importance of these events: “We will not rest until every eligible veteran and survivor receives the benefits they’ve earned.”
Since the PACT Act’s enactment, the VA has provided over $1.4 billion in benefits, conducted toxic exposure screenings for more than 3.7 million veterans, and enrolled 287,000 veterans in health care.
