Veterans day national committee announces 2024 regional sites

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 2024 — The Veterans Day National Committee (VDNC) has selected Phoenix, Arizona, as one of 56 regional sites for the 2024 Veterans Day observance. This recognition allows the city to receive vital resources from the Department of Defense (DoD) and VA, ensuring a meaningful tribute to veterans.

Phoenix Hosts a Key Veterans Day Event
The city of Phoenix, widely known for its commitment to honoring veterans, will host an official Veterans Day ceremony. The VA provides posters and ceremonial support to enhance the event. Additionally, veterans and their families are encouraged to stay informed and protect themselves from online scams that target veterans by reading tips on avoiding predatory practices.

National Observance at Arlington Cemetery
On November 11, the national Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery will commence at 11:11 a.m. ET. The event serves as a nationwide tribute to veterans, including those honored in Phoenix.

Encouraging Broader Local Participation
The VDNC encourages communities nationwide to join these efforts. Phoenix, as a regional site, benefits from VA resources that help make the event successful. These regional observances foster local participation, allowing more Americans to honor their veterans.
