YUMA, Ariz. — The Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) is proud to announce its involvement in special assistance programs aimed at helping individuals and families achieve homeownership. These initiatives, in partnership with Trellis and the USDA, provide essential support for those looking to purchase or repair homes.
Through WACOG’s Housing Counseling Program, qualified families may be eligible for Down Payment Assistance (DPA) of up to $30,000. This DPA program is designed to ease the financial burden of purchasing a home for those meeting specific eligibility criteria.
In addition to the DPA program, Thomas Ryan is leading the 502 Direct Loan initiative in collaboration with the USDA. This program helps qualifying individuals purchase homes in designated rural areas, offering subsidized assistance. Homeowners in need of repairs can also benefit from the 504 Single Family Repair Program, which provides funds for essential home repairs, improvements, and modernization projects.
