Phoenix, AZ — The Phoenix VA Health Care System will host a White Cane Safety Day Fair on October 24, 2024, to celebrate White Cane Safety Day and Blind American Equality Day. The event will take place at the Phoenix 32nd Street VA Clinic, located at 400 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, AZ 85008, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Visual Impairment Service Team (VIST) is organizing this fair to connect veterans, their families, and the community with valuable resources and support services for those who are blind or have low vision.
In-Person and Virtual Participation Options Available
The White Cane Safety Day Fair aims to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities for people with visual impairments. It promotes independence and equality. Attendees will find exhibitors, including local non-profit organizations, state agencies, advocacy groups, vendors, and VA services. This is a great chance to explore assistive technologies, support services, and resources that enhance daily living.
